VIOLET POLSANGI
Violet Polsangi er født i Teheran i Iran i 1967. Hun bor og arbeider i Oslo.
I sine verk jobber hun med abstrakte og romlige verdener som hun selv får lyst til å tre inn i og utforske. Hun bruker ofte elementer fra arkitektur og natur som hun forenkler til rene geometriske former, flertydelige objekter og abstrakte konstruksjoner. For Violet har de geometriske formene både stemme og karakter, og sammen uttrykker de både følelser og stemninger på flere plan. Gjennom fagrebruk og komposisjoner utforsker kunstneren ulike motsetninger som letthet og tyngde, balanse og ubalanse, orden og kaos, flater og perspektiv. Violet jobber med å få motsetningsfylte elementer til å gå opp i en større helhet og harmoni, gjerne med en undertone av uro.
Hun jobber også med digitale grafiske trykk (DGA) der hun på en spennende måte kombinerer fotografi med det maleriske uttrykket. Kontrasten mellom maleri/fotografi, arkitektur/natur skaper også her en dobbelthet og et transparent uttrykk som fletter sammen indre og ytre virkeligheter.
Med to-kulturell bakgrunn må en stadig prøve å få ulike elementer til å gå opp i en ny enhet og identitet. Det er noe av den følelsen Violet Polsangi prøver å uttrykke i bildene sine.
Flere av motivene vi har i utvalget er fra et Tromsø-besøk kunstneren gjorde i 2021.
